Flex Printed Circuit Boards Expected to Add to Growth

Posted 10/3/2013 by AdvancedPCB
The market for printed electronics on flexible circuits is expected to grow between now and 2020, according to a recent study published by Reportbuyer.com. Printed circuit boards that offer next-generation capabilities for consumer electronics, the medical industry and corporations all over the world will play a critical role in the development in future products and machines. The growth is thought to be from $176 million in the industry in 2013 to about $950 million in 2020, which represents a 27 percent compound annual growth rate. Primarily, these PCBs will be seen in new displays, sensing, lighting and energy generation technology. In addition, printing technologies may allow for greater flexibility while polytronic technologies could change the way printed and flexible electronics are manufactured.
