Assembly Recommendations
Keep these tips in mind when designing your board to mitigate PCB assembly costs:
- Use a good PCB layout package. If you do not have one, try PCB Artist, with free technical support. Or use our in-house IPC certified designers.
- Begin by placing the components that require a specific location first.
- Leave at least 100 mils between components and the PCB edge.
- When you need to place components on both sides, try to keep sensitive, heavy, or thru-hole components on the primary side of the PCB.
- Upload your design to FreeDFM.com or contact our DFM team.
